What this specification doesn’t say
OpinionThe full 6000 mAh ships in Europe, and the reason is a piece of transport regulation rather than generosity.
Lithium cells above roughly 20 watt-hours face heavier restrictions when flown, which for a phone battery lands somewhere near the 5000 mAh mark depending on voltage. It is why several phones sold elsewhere with large batteries arrive here smaller — the Chinese version keeps the bigger cell, the European one quietly loses a few hundred milliamp-hours, and the specification sheets rarely mention which you are looking at.
OnePlus sidesteps it by splitting the battery in two. Two cells of roughly 3000 mAh each sit under the same limit individually, so the phone carries its full capacity into a market where a single 6000 mAh cell would have been awkward. Same total, different engineering, no European penalty.
There is a trade. Dual-cell packs generally charge a little differently and add complexity in the power path, and the design costs internal space that could have gone elsewhere. Whether that is a good deal depends on how much you value the extra capacity over whatever it displaced — and nothing on this page can answer that for you.
What the page can tell you is that the number is real here. When a phone advertises a large battery, it is worth checking whether the figure belongs to the version sold in your market or to one you cannot buy. On this one, it does.
Written 2026-08-04. This section is judgement, not measurement. Nothing in it comes from testing the phone — Specrove runs no benchmarks and publishes no scores. The figures above are the facts; this is what one reader of them makes of the result.
Read from the manufacturer’s page on 2026-08-02. Manufacturers edit specification pages after launch, so a figure that was accurate on that date may have changed since. How we verify.
